How to Hostel

For those of you who travel often on a budget, hostels are a saving grace. Offering many of the same accommodations as a hotel (although perhaps with a little less privacy), hostels are go-to hotspots for many thrifty high school and university students who simply need a bed to sleep in while backpacking in foreign countries.

For the first-time traveler or those who are simply interested in the hostel process, I have created this section of my blog to not only give pointers on finding the right hostels for you, but to also review the hostels I have visited in order to give you a better idea of what to look for during your travels.

My hostel ratings will be divided by five categories: cleanliness (because we don’t want to find any pesky insect friends when we crawl into bed at night), cost (duh!), location (in regards to how close the hostel is to all the action), benefits (free tours, bus rides, etc.), and, finally, an average of all these factors to make one solid rating.

Look for all my postings on hostels under the label "Hostels," which can be seen in the toolbar underneath the title of my blog.

Enjoy, and happy travels!!

  1. What an interesting bed time evening. Better to be on the top bunk. The mice will snuggle in the lower bunk!
Your writing cracks me up. Glad you are having such interesting and hard to believe experiences. You should write a book called"The happy hostels" or "hostels without critters" or "hostels with old cereal" haha!
    Love you both,
    Mom

  2. Dani this seems like such a good idea and a good way of giving people information on a hostel that is measurable! I'm looking forward to seeing your ratings of the Hostels you stay at. (:
